Invest in Your Success: Register for ASSA Tuition Before Registration Closes

Preparing for actuarial examinations is about more than covering the syllabus – it is about developing a deep understanding of the material, refining your examination technique, and receiving meaningful feedback throughout your preparation.
ASSA’s education support offerings have been designed to help candidates prepare proactively for examinations through structured learning, regular assessment and expert guidance. Whether you are writing a subject for the first time or preparing for a further attempt, engaging with these support initiatives can help strengthen your technical understanding, build confidence and improve your examination readiness. Many candidates have found significant value in participating in ASSA’s tuition offerings, and we encourage all candidates writing Semester 2 examinations to consider making use of the support available.
Why register for the ASSA Tuition Full Package?
The Tuition Full Package is ASSA’s most comprehensive pre-examination support offering, providing structured guidance throughout the semester.
Depending on the subject, the package includes:
- Approximately 30 hours of live contact time (or 50 hours for A311) delivered through structured online sessions.
- Interactive lectures, discussion sessions, workshops and, where applicable, pre-recorded learning material.
- Compulsory marked assignments (totalling at least 100 marks) to reinforce learning, monitor progress and identify areas requiring further attention.
- A Content Practice Exam (CPE), professionally marked with personalised feedback before the final examination.
- Subject-specific examination preparation sessions where applicable.
ASSA tuition is delivered by qualified actuaries who are either experienced academics or recognised subject matter experts within their respective practice areas. Many of our course leaders have also served on ASSA examination teams and therefore have extensive experience in preparing candidates for success. While they cannot predict examination content, they are well placed to help candidates develop effective examination technique, understand how to approach different styles of questions and avoid common pitfalls.
The Tuition Full Package also offers the opportunity to learn alongside other candidates. Participating in live sessions enables candidates to benefit not only from the questions they ask themselves, but also from the questions, perspectives and experiences of their peers. Many candidates find these interactions invaluable in deepening their understanding of the material, while also creating opportunities to build study groups, share ideas and support one another throughout the semester.
What is a Content Practice Exam (CPE)?
For candidates who may not require the full tuition programme, the Content Practice Exam (CPE) provides an excellent opportunity to assess examination readiness.
The CPE is a full examination-style assessment that reflects the standard and format of the final examination. It is set and peer-reviewed by experienced course leaders, professionally marked, and accompanied by detailed personalised feedback to help candidates identify strengths, address weaknesses and refine their examination technique before the final examination. Standalone CPE candidates also have access to the course assignments on an optional basis.
Receiving meaningful feedback before the final examination allows candidates to focus their remaining preparation where it will have the greatest impact and approach the final examination with greater confidence.
Which option is right for you?
Whether you choose the Tuition Full Package or the standalone Content Practice Exam (CPE) depends on where you are in your examination journey.
The Tuition Full Package may be the best option if you:
- are writing the subject for the first time;
- would benefit from a structured study programme with regular milestones throughout the semester;
- value the opportunity to engage directly with experienced course leaders and qualified actuaries;
- would benefit from discussing concepts with fellow candidates and learning from their questions and experiences;
- are looking for comprehensive support that combines teaching, assignments, examination practice and personalised feedback; or
- want the accountability that comes with a structured programme to help keep your preparation on track.
The standalone Content Practice Exam (CPE) may be the best option if you:
- already have a good understanding of the syllabus and are primarily looking to assess your examination readiness;
- would benefit from practising under examination conditions before the final examination;
- want detailed, personalised feedback to identify the areas where your preparation should be focused in the remaining weeks before the examination; or
- prefer a targeted intervention while continuing to prepare independently.
Whichever option you choose, both offerings are designed to strengthen examination preparation by providing valuable opportunities to receive expert guidance, practise examination-style questions and obtain personalised feedback before sitting the final examination.
