The ThinkActuary platform allows you to practice past exam questions, and identifies exam topics that you are less comfortable with to make sure you spend time where it’s most beneficial. As you progress through completing practice questions you can either self-assess or you can opt to have your attempts marked by qualified actuaries.

Post-Exam Support Programmes

Exam Counselling

Exam counselling is a one-on-one session you will have with an assigned exam counsellor who is a subject matter expert. The session will cover your previous exam attempt and focus on areas of improvement to ensure that you excel at your next exam attempt.

Exam counselling is only applicable to candidates who received an FA or FB in the previous semester’s exam sitting. Meaning, only candidates who receive an FA or FB for the 2025 semester 1 exam, will be allowed to register for exam counselling in 2025 semester 2.

Examiner’s Workshop

Examiner’s workshops take the form of group counselling sessions specifically covering the previous semester’s exam paper. Each examiner’s workshop is presented by the examiner/s of the ASSA exam in each subject.

The sessions will run for approximately 2 hours, per subject per semester, subject to sufficient demand.

Examiner’s Workshops are offered to candidates who have either:

  • Obtained an unsuccessful attempt in the previous semester’s exam. or,
  • Who intend registering to write in the upcoming exam session

During each workshop, the subject-specific examiner takes participating candidates through the exam and trends that have been identified in the most exam session. Participants who wrote the previous semester’s exam will have access to their scripts.
