IFoA Outsourced Exams
All A1-level Exams, A212, A214 and F106 Exams
The following subjects – A111 (CS1), A112 (CB2), A113 (CB1), A212 (CS2), A214 (CM2), and F106 (SP9) – are coordinated and administered by the IFoA. All candidates must follow IFoA policies, procedures, and exam instructions, as these differ from ASSA processes. The IFoA exam offering must not be confused with ASSA’s. In particular:
- No Opt-Out option is available for the IFoA administered exam subjects.
- The IFoA exam platform will be utilised for exam submissions, not the ASSA exam platform.

The IFoA will communicate to you with instructions to assist with your preparation for the examination. Please ensure you read these instructions thoroughly before your exam date.

Formulae and Tables Book: 2025 update (for 2026 onwards)
The IFoA has introduced a new edition of the Formulae and Tables book, known as the 2025 edition or “Red Formulae and Tables Book”, that will be used in IFoA examinations (only) from April 2026 onwards.
Access to IFoA Examination Submissions
ASSA candidates who sit an Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) examination, whether remotely or at an ASSA examination venue, can access and download a copy of their examination submission directly from the IFoA Online Exam Platform.
Availability of examination submissions:
Examination submissions are available for download from the IFoA Online Exam Platform for a period of two weeks from the date on which the examination was completed.
Candidates can log in to the IFoA Online Exam Platform after their examination, using the same credentials used for the examination, to download and retain a copy of their submission.
Each submission will only remain available for the two-week period. Candidates are strongly encouraged to download and retain a copy of each submission within the specified period, as submissions will no longer be available for download once the applicable deadline has passed.
How to access your examination submission:
1. Log in to the IFoA Online Exam Platform.
2. Navigate to your completed examination(s).
3. Download and save each examination submission before the applicable two-week deadline.

IFoA Past Papers
ASSA student members in good standing can access IFoA past examination papers and examiner reports from 2019 onwards for the subjects outsourced to the IFoA. These subjects are:
- A111 (CS1)
- A112 (CB2)
- A113 (CB1)
- A212 (CS2)
- A214 (CM2)
- F106 (SP9)
Please note the following important points regarding access:
- Access can only be granted through the ASSA login portal.
- Access is available only to ASSA student members who are in good standing.
- Past papers and examiner reports are provided on a view-only basis, they cannot be downloaded, and their content may not be copied or reproduced.
- You are required to enrol yourself into the IFoA Past Papers and Examiner Reports section via your ASSA member profile — both now and in the future. Access is not automatically granted.
To enrol and gain access:
- Log in to your ASSA Member Profile.
- Navigate to the ASSA Learning Platform.
- On the Dashboard, locate the section titled “Access to IFoA Past Papers and Examiner Reports.”
- Click “Enrol Me” to activate access.
