Semester 2 2026 Exam Readiness Testing for Venue Candidates
To help ensure that candidates are fully prepared for examination day, ASSA has introduced Exam Readiness Testing for candidates writing Semester 2 2026 ASSA-administered examinations at an ASSA-designated examination venue.
Testing is:
- Compulsory for candidates writing an ASSA-administered examination for the first time; and
- Strongly recommended for all other candidates writing at an ASSA-designated examination venue.
Please note: These testing requirements apply to ASSA-administered examinations only. Candidates writing examinations outsourced to the IFoA should look out for separate communication from the IFoA regarding any testing or examination readiness requirements applicable to those examinations.
Testing Overview
| Candidate group | Testing dates | Requirement |
| Candidates writing an ASSA-administered examination for the first time | 17–21 August 2026 | Mandatory – all required testing activities must be successfully completed |
| All other candidates writing at an ASSA-designated examination venue | 24–28 August 2026 | Strongly recommended |
Important: Candidates writing an ASSA-administered examination for the first time who do not successfully complete all required testing by the specified deadline will be deregistered from their examination and will not be permitted to write.
Exam Readiness Testing
The purpose of Exam Readiness Testing is to familiarise candidates with the ASSA examination process, examination platform and the key actions they will need to complete before and during their examination. Completing the testing in advance helps candidates become familiar with the examination procedures before examination day.
To complete Exam Readiness Testing, candidates will need to:
- Log in to the ASSA Exam Platform using their ASSA member number and password.
- Navigate to My Courses and select the Semester 2 2026 Venue Exam Readiness Testing course.
- Work through each step of the course and follow the instructions provided.
As part of the testing process, candidates will complete the following exam readiness activities:
| Step | What candidates must successfully do |
| 1 | Read and familiarise themselves with the relevant ASSA examination policies, technical requirements and examination procedures. |
| 2 | Work through the examination platform, including the examination disclaimer, examination instructions and downloading the Exam Readiness Quiz. |
| 3 | Complete and successfully upload the Exam Readiness Quiz to practise downloading the examination paper and uploading an answer script. |
| 4 | Submit a Practice Examination Incident to become familiar with the examination incident reporting process. |
Returning Candidates Are Strongly Encouraged to Test
Although Exam Readiness Testing is compulsory only for candidates writing an ASSA-administered examination for the first time, ASSA strongly encourages all candidates writing at an ASSA-designated examination venue to complete the testing. The testing provides returning candidates with an opportunity to refresh their understanding of the examination platform, examination procedures and answer script upload process before examination day.
