March 2023 marks the 100 year anniversary of Eskom providing electricity to South Africa (Eskom, 2022a). From being awarded Power Company of the Year at the Global Energy Awards in 2001 (Eskom, 2022a) to 2007 marking the start of load-shedding and the beginning of the country’s electricity crisis, and finally to present day which sees 2023 having the worst load-shedding in South Africa’s history.

The publication of the excel model with this report should enable anyone to better understand the impact of various options for our electricity mix.
