AWF CHALLENGE: MULTIPLY IMPACT. DIVIDE HUNGER. INVEST IN THE FUTURE ACTUARY.

As the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) Convention approaches, the Actuaries Without Frontiers (AWF) Committee is setting a vital challenge for all employers and corporate partners: join us in our nutrition initiative, themed Multiply Impact. Divide Hunger.
The evidence is clear: You cannot teach a hungry child maths. Food security is not a separate social issue; it is the crucial foundation upon which education and potential future talent are built. Without proper nourishment, children struggle to learn and thrive, undermining the very pipeline of skilled professionals our industry relies on.
AWF’s mission is to create socially conscious actuaries, individuals who are not only technically proficient but also deeply aware of the social and economic barriers that affect access to education and opportunity. This initiative is a direct expression of that mission.
Your organisation has a unique opportunity to invest directly in this foundation. We are requesting financial donations to provide essential nutritional support to learners and their families. This act of collective action ensures no child goes without the food they need to focus, learn, and grow.
As an added incentive, all contributing companies will be publicly acknowledged during the ASSA Convention and in post-event communications. In addition, Section 18A certificates will be issued for qualifying donations, allowing your organisation to benefit from tax deductions while making a meaningful impact.
We urge your company to coordinate a bulk contribution before the Convention on 5 November.
