Exemptions

Students who have completed an Actuarial degree at accredited universities in South Africa need to apply for exemptions with the Actuarial Society of South Africa (see document below).

Please note that students who have passed exams written as members of the Actuarial Society of South Africa through the Profession on either a distance learning basis or for subjects offered by the Profession do not need to apply for exemptions. The results of these subjects will be recorded directly on their academic record from September 2009 onwards.

Please ensure that you read the instructions in the documents below carefully.

Membership applications must be submitted to the office in Cape Town.
Exemption applications must be submitted to the Education office in Johannesburg.
