Continuous Statistical Investigations (“CSI”)
The objective of the ASSA Continuous Statistical Investigations (CSI) Committee is to gather, process and interpret information impacting on the actuarial profession in South Africa in order to improve the factual basis on which actuarial decisions, particularly those relating to contingencies of life or health, are based.
The CSI Committee's main activities include the following:
- To continuously gather data relating to assured lives mortality, and to periodically report on the experience.
- To investigate the feasibility of conducting investigations into Healthcare experience; Pensioners' mortality experience; Disability experience, and other decrements.
- To maintain contact with other similar committees overseas.
- To identify potential public relations opportunities and to provide appropriate comment/response for the Communications Committee to disseminate, and to assist the Communications Committee in identifying decision makers and developing positive relationships with them.
