How to become a Student Member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.

Actuarial Society Membership/Student Application:

In order for you to enter for exams or apply for exemptions you need to first apply for student membership of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.

Please read the following instructions carefully:
Please note the following when completing your application form:
Application forms must be completed in BLACK INK.
All fields should be completed.
Incomplete application forms will not be processed and will cause delays.
Transcripts must be originals (NO CERTIFIED COPIES WILL BE ACCEPTED).

Students from the following universities must have their forms signed by their professor:

  • University of Cape Town 
  • Stellenbosch University
  • University of Witwatersrand 
  • University of Pretoria

Applications without two referees will not be processed.
Applications should be sent via speed post or courier and should NOT be sent via fax or email.
Payments must only be submitted after you have received feedback on your application.
Applications can take up to four weeks to process.

Admission closing dates:

 

Prospective students may submit applications for membership during the course of the year. Admission deadlines apply in respect of the examinations, however. These are communicated to universities and employers. Students who wish to sit exams in any given year are urged to contact the Operations Office (021 509 5242/ prussouw@oldmutual.com) well in advance to ensure their applications are received in time for them to sit the exams.

Fees: 
Payment should be made once your application form has been approved.
No credit cards accepted.
