Organisational Structure

Council

The Council is elected from among the Fellow members of the organisation and acts as the strategic management, decision-making and policy-making body of the organisation.

Operational Boards

The executive staff form the Executive Committee, while the President and President-elect are permanent invitees to meetings and receive all documents and correspondence related to the activities of the Committee.

A delegation from Council, including executive staff, meets with a delegation from the Financial Services Board (the regulatory authority) at least once a year.

The Executive Committee and Operational Boards are responsible for the day-to-day management of the Actuarial Society's affairs.

  • Education Board

Actuarial Governance Board

The Actuarial Governance Board provides external oversight and operates independently of Council.

The Council Standing Committees support the Practice Areas Committees with Research, Treating Customers Fairly, AIDS and Continuous Statistical Investigations.

Council may appoint Task Forces to look into and report on certain matters from time to time.

The Council Member Forums are responsible for knowledge sharing, member support and identifying opportunities for the profession. The existing forums are the Social Security and Damages Member Forums.
